Building the Maloof course in Flushing Meadows Park

On April 13th California Skate Parks began construction at the Astral Fountain, for the 2010 Maloof Money Cup competition that's taking place in June at Flushing Meadows Park. The next day, Bill Minadeo, of C.S.P. contacted me to stop by. While I was there, we looked over the course blueprints, I was able to give some opinions about the course and gave specs on some famous Queens skate spots they might consider adding to the course. Mr. Minadeo, then hired me on April 16th to help with the building process. I was able to involve a few more people so I brought in some heavy hitters from the local Queens and NYC skateboarding community to help build on what has been our stomping grounds for the past 2 decades. I want to thank Bill and everyone at California Skate Parks for including me and the local community in building our very first legitimate skateboarding plaza. It's been an extremely meaningful experience for all of us and this is only the beginning...
